Temporary Lane Closures on Maryland Avenue NE Continue Through November 15
 

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will continue temporarily close the left lanes both outbound and inbound on Maryland Avenue NE between 13th and 15th Streets NE, through November 15.
 

The temporary lane closures will be in place from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather and construction conditions permitting.
 

During this time, left turns from single lanes and U-turns will be prohibited. Emergency No Parking Signs will be posted in the parking lane between 13th Street NE and 14th Street NE on the westbound side and between 14th Street NE and 15th St. NE on the eastbound side.
 

Traffic control signs will be in place to guide all roadway users through the new traffic corridor. Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to stay alert and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
 

The Maryland Avenue NE project will improve safety and access for bikes, pedestrians, and cars on the corridor between 2nd Street and 14th Street NE. The project includes new lighting, traffic signals, high visibility crosswalks, traffic calming, shorter crossing distances for pedestrians and new bike lanes. DDOT anticipates the project will be completed by Summer 2021.

The temporary lane closures will be in place from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from October 29, 2019 until November 1, 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting. 

 

During this time, left turns from single lanes and U-turns will be prohibited. Emergency No Parking Signs will be posted in the parking lane between 13th Street NE and 14th Street NE on the westbound side and on the eastbound side between 14th Street NE and 15th St. NE.

The temporary lane closures will be in place from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday from October 23, 2019 until November 5, 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting. 

 

During this time, left turns from single lanes will be prohibited. Emergency No Parking Signs will be posted in the parking lane between 11th Street NE and 10th Street NE. 

 

The lane closures are needed to remove the median and to perform electrical work.

 

Traffic control signs will be in place to guide all roadway users through the new traffic corridor.  Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to stay alert and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

July 25 - Aug. 9

7:00am -5:00pm

(Washington, DC) As a part of the Maryland Avenue NE Streetscape Project, the District Department of Transportation will close the outbound and inbound lanes adjacent to the median between 13th and 14th Street NE on or about July 25, 2019. These lanes will be closed from 7:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday from July 25, 2019 to August 9, 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting. In addition, the parking lane between 13th and 14th Street NE, along the outbound lane, will be restricted to stage the work.

 

The lane closures are needed to lay the electrical conduit along the median between existing electrical manholes.

 

Traffic control signs will be in place to guide travelers in the corridor through the new traffic pattern.  Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to stay alert and use caution when traveling by the work zone.
